Behind the scenes #1 - with A Cut Above Academy

The toughest part about any event is definitely building and getting partnerships with renowned organisations. It will certainly shake the knees of organisers.

As you may have already known, A Cut Above Charity’s partner is A Cut Above itself. Marking its 30 years since its establishment in 1979, A Cut Above is founded by Ms. Winnie Loo who opened the first salon that is only a 428 sq ft with 10 seats salon in the heart of Kuala Lumpur golden triangle. This Malaysia’s renowned hair salon has been expanding ever since with an outlet each in Bangsar Shopping Centre (5000 sq. ft.), Bangsar Village , Mid Valley Megamall (4000 sq. ft.), Sunway Pyramid where a studio salon and academy is situated (3000 sq. ft.), and lastly the newest outlet in Parkson in Pavilion with a new concept, Kerastase (Loreal) spa salon.

If the measurements confused you, just remember this; from one 428 sq. ft. salon to 5000 sq. ft. salons – not only one outlet but five outlets!

Now imagine meeting representatives from such an established hair salon. Honestly, it certainly shook the knees of the presenters. But of course, all the anxious-knee-shaking moments, were well worth it.

Final discussion... Ms Lim (Event Supervisor) in pink, leaders and department leaders who were present had a short discussion before meeting the representatives from A Cut Above, Ms Yin Kuan (A Cut Above Academy Manager) and Mr Kelvin Chin (Educator).

It was indeed a joyful moment as the meeting went well, but it was also the moment of truth for the event organisers as it was a moment that meant, “Ladies and Gentleman, please shift to gear 10!”
